Dr Rex Binning was Farnol's local GP in Hove, Sussex and Jane was the daughter of Phyllis Mary Clarke whom Farnol was to marry in 1938 and adopt Jane. A rare book in its own right but particularly so with a connection between the recipient and the subject of the book.
