London: Collins, 1988. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Good. First Printing of the First UK edition. Huge and entertaining memoir, the first volume of the actor's autobiography. SIGNED at the title page without dedication. A reasonably tight, square copy, the boards are clean, minor pushing to the spine tips. Text-block a trifle tanned, perhaps. pp.431, illustrated with photographs. The dustjacket is unclipped but shelf-worn at the edges and corners and there is a small ugly mark at the front flap which appears to be label-residue. Good condition dustjacket overall. Surprisingly uncommon signed.

London: John Spencer, 1973. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Fine/Very Good. First thus, originally published in paperback, 1963. A lovely, fresh copy of this supernatural thriller, one of over 150 or more books the author wrote during a very productive spell in the 50's and 60's (just reading his bio is quite exhausting). Great dustjacket artwork. Square, tight, sharp corners, minor pushing to spine tips - Fine. The dustjacket is not clipped, has rubbing to the corners and a couple of minor scrapes here and there but VG indeed.

London: Methuen, 2001. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Fine/Fine. First Printing. A wonderful copy of this first full biography of the 1997 Nobel Prize-winner and his wife and life-long collaborator, the actress & writer Franca Rame. A Fine unread copy in Fine unclipped dustjacket. SIGNED TWICE by Dario Fo - at the front endpaper alongside the signature of Franca Rame - and for a second time at the title page below the signature of the author. Possibly a unique copy, thus. Signed for the seller in person at the Edinburgh International Book Festival.

London: Chatto & Windus, 1934. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Good. Original red cloth, red-coloured top edge, pp. 371 with short publisher catalogue at the rear. A good clean copy, some fading to the cloth at the upper cover and also to the backstrip. Upper cover bowing a little, corners rubbed, spine tips pushed. Free from owner names etc and internally clean.

Penguin, 2007. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Fine/Fine. First Printing. A VeryFine unread copy in Very Fine dustjacket. Loosely inserted into the book is a plain white card (approx 3.5" x 3" ) inscribed "To John" and signed by the author.

Finland: United Artists, 1972. 1st Edition 1st Printing. No Binding. Very Good. A scarce and attention-grabbing cinema-used Finnish movie poster for Satyricon directed by Federico Fellini. The film took its time getting to Finland and was first screened in 1972 with no further subsequent theatrical releases. Standard Finnish A2-sized, 24" x 16" approx. No printer or artist information. There are a few condition issues. There is a 2-inch tear at the top right edge. Noticeable Couple of small nicks at the edges. Pinholes at corners. As usual with 70's and later posters the glossier type of finish more easily attracts surface damage and there a few minor surface scrapes. Appears to have been rolled with no folding crease visible. Notwithstanding these faults, the poster still presents really well and will look great under glass. Very Good

London: No Exit Press, 1999. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Soft cover. Very Good. Uncorrected Proof Copy of the first UK edition. His first novel and an extremely good thriller. Printed wrappers with the same cover illustration that adorned the subsequent hardcover edition. A bit tanned but in VG clean condition. SIGNED at the title and laid in is a photograph of the author at the signing event in question.

The dustjacket is shelf-creased along the top edge and slightly tanned at rear panel and along the top edge, inside. A Good unclipped dustjacket.

The second Piers Roper story, following The Shakeout. A VG copy indeed, pushed at the spine tips, corners lightly bumped. Slightly cracked at the title and first couple of gatherings but tight and reasonably square. The dustjacket is also in VG shape - Near Fine, in fact with just minor tanning to flaps and a tiny scrape to the laminate near the gutter at the front cover. Loosely inserted a small, plain white card which has been boldly hand-signed by Ken Follett in black ink, ideal size for mounting in the book.

A VG clean copy in an export dustjacket which lacks a printed price at the front flap. Slightly faded at the spine else VG indeed. Loosely inserted a small, plain white card which has been boldly hand-signed by Ken Follett in black ink, ideal size for mounting in the book.

New York: Morrow, 1986. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Fine/Fine. Lightly pushed at the spine tips but otherwise a Fine, square, tight copy. Minor crease to the dustjacket front panel but otherwise a Fine unclipped dustjacket. Signed directly to the half-title by the author.

Finland: Republic Pictures, 1964. 1st Printing. No Binding. Near Fine. An excellent, cinema-used Finnish movie poster for the John Ford classic, Rio Grande. The film was re-released in Finland in 1964 and this poster dates from that theatrical run. The poster measures 40 cm x 60.5cm approx and is in Near Fine condition. Printed by Piirtopaino Oy. Full-bleed. A very striking and colourful poster, wholly illustrated and artist-initialled in the plate. The poster was mounted with glue or paste, however, and so, to the verso, there are 5 glue stains and these do bleed through but fortunately the richly coloured, dark background does obscure them very effectively. Apart from some minor handling creases the poster is in fantastic condition with no edge-wear, nicks etc. Overall excellent, Near Fine condition.

An attractive copy - square and tight with sharp corners, minor creasing to spine tips. There is the ghost of a very small label which has been removed at the flyleaf but otherwise a Fine copy. The dustjacket is unclipped and has no other loss - very minor creasing along the top edge front and a small price-sticker at the rear panel. Fine.

A superb cinema-used Finnish movie poster for the 1961 motor-racing film The Green Helmet starring Bill Travers and Ed Begley with Jack Brabham in a supporting role (as himself). The poster is a standard-sized Finnish A2 measuring approximately 23.5 inches x 15.5 inches. Full-bleed, printed by Fotopaino Oy of Helsinki and artist-initialled in the plate. In fabulous used condition - there is one pinhole at each bottom corner, a further one at top left and then three at top right. No nicks or tears to the edges. Minor handling creases to corners. A couple of small marks or stains to the blank verso which do not bleed through. C9, Near Mint. Superbly illustrated and lovely graphics, a great vintage movie poster on a motor racing theme. Macdonald & Jane's, 1979. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. First Printing of the First UK edition. Never an easy book to find and now quite rare. This is a nice copy, tight and square, shelf-bumped at the corners and pushed at the spine tips a little. Remarkably fresh, white text-block, Macdonald's are/were probably THE WORST publishing house for their use of cheap paper-stock which browns easily. Free from owner names or stains etc, very Near Fine. The dustjacket is also in Near Fine condition with price of £4.95 at the front flap (many copies are unpriced). Minor rubbing to the spine tips and corners, slight creasing along the edges. A nice copy, uncommon thus.
