Description:
George Allen, 1899. VG-. 1st Edition. 34.5 x 19.5 cm unpaginated (56pp) with 26 black and white illustrations of animals, one for each letter of the alphabet each with a red printed capital. Each image is accompanied on the facing page with a 2 line rhyming couplet. Light rubbing to the spine with heavier rubbing to the corners which are rounded and edges with a loss of surface paper up to 0.5 cm. The book appears to have been recased, with a replacement rear endpaper and so the binding is firm and square. Internally, without name, inscription or bookplate and a little toning to the free endpapers only and the very occasional, light handling mark. A very striking alphabet book. Rainford & Parris Books welcomes enquiries, so please do not hesitate to ask if you require further images or have any questions. All books are packaged with great care.
