Later tan half calf with gilt titles to spine., marbled boards. Internally clean, slight chip[ping to flyleaf, binding lightly rubbed to extremities, especially joints, spine sunned. Very good. A printing from the same year as the first edition. Gaboriau was a master of French detective fiction, eclipsed in English only by Doyle's 'Sherlock Holmes' stories.

INSCRIBED by Baron von Falz-Fein, father of Ludmila, in blue ink to dedication page. Publishers green cloth, gilt title upper front board. Photographic yellow dust-jacket, not priced. Ownership inscription to front endpaper, minor marking to front board, Minor tear to upper spine of dust-jacket. Near fine. This story originally appeared in the Christmas 1953 issue of Sketch in London.

Additionally featuring four TLS, all addressed to the first owner of the typescript, Gary L. Heiselberg. One, loose and unfolded from the publishers, confirms his purchase of the typescript, and apologises for its delay in dispatch. Faint cup ring to cloth cover, minor wear to spine tips, small tape mark to rear flap. Shows well. Very good indeed. John Gardner was a British spy and thriller novelist who was best known for his continuation of the James Bond novels. 'Nobody Lives For Ever' is the fifth novel by him in this series.
