Book bound in green boards with title and author in gold on the front cover of this slim volume. Also an illustration graces the front cover. There is edgewear and some staining on the back cover. See photos. An inscription appears on the flyleaf: Edith E. McCausland, Christmas 1914. Presumed first edition as there is no statement.

Description:
Little Brown and Co., 1968. The title tells it all. This is a comprehensive history of Theatre. B&W photos and Illustrations appear on nearly every page. There are a few sections of color plates. The pages are nice, crisp and clean. This is NOT ex-library and has no markings, highlighting. There is no owner label or writing.
It is bound in green cloth with very minor wear at corners and top and bottom of the spine. The book jacket has wear at the corners and a few rips around the edges. One 1.5 inch tear at front, top corner and a small rip at bottom, back corner. See photos.
This is a handsome, used book. The description is based on this invidividual book. This book is larger than average and may require an adjustment in the shipping cost. Buyer will be apprised of any increase and asked to approve it before the completion of a sale.

Description:
University of Chicago, 1927, First Edition. No dj. Bound in black boards with title and illustration in gold on the front cover, spine also decorated along with title and publisher. Edge and corner wear is as would be expected, former owner's name is lightly penciled on the front flyleaf. Second flyleaf is ceased and has two tears. Title page and flyleaves are separated. However, the sewn binding is only a little loose. Pages are unmarked. Top of the Text block is gilt edged and bottom may have been but has faded. Paper is quite thin and a few are creased. This is not an ex library; The description is based on this book. University of Chicago is known for its high caliber scholarship, especially in the mid-century period.
