n.p.: n.p., 1969. Later printing. Soft cover. Good. 8vo. Stiff paper covers with title label on front. Front cover chipped, creased and torn. No date given for the typed manuscript of 72 numbered one-sided pages. There are no illustrations. Manuscript comes with an attached letter from Dale Graves to Dr. Earle on Stanford Research Institute letterhead dated 1969. The attached letter mentions a visit with Mrs. Nixon at the White House. The book is a History of the Alaska Railroad. It was originally published in 1908 in Chicago and included 15 plates. S. H. Graves was the President of the White Pass and Yukon Route. Hale writes, "You are very good to send me the volume of the Home Study Readings. I shall keep it close at hand as am excellent book of reference. I meet the studies everywhere in travel, I always buy the paper which contains them, and I am most glad to have this series in a connected form.
