Tvrdy in Praha Czechoslovakia, SIGNED BY THE ILLUSTRATOR. 77pp, [3], bound in decorative cloth, decorative endpapers, binding and hinges tight, color illustrations throughout, with a mylar dust wrapper, lacking the slipcase. Covers show spine wear\ peeling. Interior in Very Good Condition.

Boston: Roberts Brothers, 1886 Illustrated by Miss C.A. Northam, J. Francis Murphy and Edmund H. Garrett. This wonderful hardback is in GOOD CONDITION. 59 pages bound in gold cloth with beveled edges, brown decorative lettering and designs, with gold gilt lettering and church on spine. Front cover contains a crafted metal sculptural relief, after F.B. Schell's engraving, depicting the St. Botolph church and Lincolnshire village, in beveled inset. Floral endpapers, front inside endpaper missing. Gold gilt edges all around. Owners name on fly page, very faint. Frontis is an engraving of author with tissue guard, and her signature. Pages 53-59 are loose and last illustration is torn in half. Hinges loose but intact. Surface soiling on covers. STILL A VERY NICE COPY AND RARE INDEED.

Boston: Roberts Brothers, 1881 47pp, printed on fine glossy paper, bound in decorative blue cloth with beveled edges, gilt still bright, decorative endpapers, all edges gilt, hinges tight. This book was stored with a brown paper cover over it, which allowed the book covers to remain in Very Good Condition, but the paper covers were pasted onto the inside portion of the book covers, leaving a residue and portions of the paper. Church library bookplate inside cover [only library marking]. Lacks a plain paper free endpaper, occasional light foxing.

Front cover on the Third Series is nearly detached, all covers show edge and corner wear. Bookplate for "du Gillon" in each volume, as well as a penciled signature from another owner.
