A few short tears (archivally closed) to cover, somewhat curled corners, & the wrapper covers are pulled nearly loose from the text, but the adjacent short tears have been archivally repaired. Nonetheless, good condition. Very scarce.

Some plates are whole page lithos of one ranch or establishment, many are two on one plate, a few are three. A few plates are drawings of people. A few are newspaper facsimiles. The last plate is advertising. There are also numerous smaller illustrations. 1 table. The only caveat of which the buyer should be aware is that a previous owner has protected all edges with a uniformly applied black plastic tape. It is not unattractive and is only 5/16th" deep. Also, the spine is protected with a clear tape. It was carefully affixed. The text is near fine condition with only a couple of short tears, archivally repaired. Oblong string tied dark gray wraps, about 7 1/2" x 9 x 1/2". Illustrated with half-tones of public buildings & homes in Freeport, Illinois. Stated is "Photographs by Wareham. Grouping by Bolender." On the "net" is the following information on J. L. Wareham. "John L. Wareham - photographer, Obituary in 1879 he returned to Freeport and became one of the leading photographers of this city. The picture industry at that early date was at the "tin type" stage and it was necessary for him to make his own dry plates for making pictures. Of recent years he has been doing much of the commercial photography for factories and railroads in this vicinity. (Jan. 31, 1930 Freeport Journal Standard)." There was also a photographer, C. H.
