Illustrated with 16 pages of photographs. Brown wraps with the title "The Bud" on front. Wraps cased in brown buckram binding with "The Bud" on front board. Inserted front blank end sheet is signed by a former student Cushman? Class of 1908. High school publication composed by and printed by the students. Contents include several articles, pieces written by the students in various classes. At the end of the piece is the name(s) of the typesetter. The last 4 printed pages lists the student enrollment. Some of the pages have small edge tears and a few are repaired on edges with tape. Photograph pages are very thin and some have tape repairs. Some photographs are faded. Graysville is an unincorporated community in Turman Township, Sullivan County, Indiana. It is part of the Terre Haute Metropolitan Statistical Area.

On that same day, his 42nd birthday, Paige signed his first major league contract, for $40,000 for the three months remaining in the season, becoming the first Negro pitcher in the American League and the seventh Negro big leaguer overall.[124] Larry Doby, who broke the color barrier in the American League at the age of 23 the same year Robinson did in the National League, would be a teammate of Paige.
