The spine has 6 gilt panels with gilt designs in panels, one panel is red with gilt titles. The Latin text of the 6 books seems to be in rhyme.

It has decorative end papers and 320, very lightly toned pages illustrated with black & white drawings and plates bound in blue cloth covered boards embellished with black designs and gilt scenes on the front and spine. There are gilt titles on the spine.

This Youth's Companion has been very well kept and is clean, tight and unmarked with minimal toning (a bit more at the edges) and crease across the middle. It contains "The Thatcher Luck" by Brown, "Melloon's Item" by Robbins among many other stories and serials, fact and fiction. It contains many great period ads. It has pp: 77 - 92. It has pictorial wraps with a colorful picture of Washington at Vally Forge and a small name on the front.

It is undated, but WorldCat has 1929. NAP indicates first edition.

The titles on the front flap of the dust jacket list to The Mystery of the Ivory Charm.
