Produced in an edition of 100 copies, this being #40 Inscribed by Claire Van Vliet to the recipient and signed by all of the artists on the colophon. Unpag. 4to. A beautiful production that pays homage to the friendship quilt. Accordion fold production with each section representing a portion of a friendship quilt presented to Aunt Sallie, each section with a holograph note card from the presenter, a poetic response from Aunt Sallie printed on facing page. Title basted in embroidery thread, book enclosed in a printed fabric cover. Clamshell box also covered in printed fabric and includes a bouquet of silk flowers inset into the front tray. Each pages create a different quilt pattern with the names of the quilters handwritten on a corner of each section. Papers used: Barcham Green, Richard Langdell, MacGregor-Vinzani, Fabriano, Rives, and Mohawk Superfine.

Nicholas Kemmer (1911-1999) was the first, in this paper, to propose a theory for the unification of the weak and electromagnetic interactions. His theory involved a charged carrier particle. 889-1005 pp. 4to. Green paper wraps that are quite clean. Ex-library with small black library stamp at lower right corner of front cover, no other markings.

Russia: Mockba, 1965. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Good. Filled with Kent's illustrations and reproductions of color paintings that supplement the text. A stunning work when it was published in 1955 in the United States. Republished in the Soviet Union in 1965, with the new Russian text working almost seamlessly with the original illustrations [Libman 2875]. It is an extremely rare edition with none appearing in library holdings via OCLC. Second Printing, 1966. 647 pp. 8vo. Only Russian Edition of Rockwell Kent's autobiography first published by Dodd, Mead and Company in 1955. Dust jacket has minor chips and tears, scuffing, now in mylar cover. Slight bumping to cover boards, minor soiling at edges. Inscription on first free endpaper and note on rear pastedown, both in Russian.

Center four stamps are a different, plain design without the image of the woman. Clean, crisp sheet with no chips or tears.

By hand, at back "Designed and Executed by Robert E. Massmann," (a noted name in miniatures).
