Hamburg: Bruno Karberg, 1928. A 25 year commemorative certificate issued to comrade Friedrich Steinig by the association of Carpenters and associated professions. Blind-embossed lithograph based on a design by Bruno Karberg. An attractive, art-deco design, with gilt and colour detail. A little rubbing to the name and date (printed after the original sheet) and slight darkening / marking to the sheet, but overall in excellent condition. Bruno Karberg was a German graphic artist based in Hamburg. Was a student of O. Czeschka at the arts and crafts school. Fascinating images of Belgium's early 20th century architecture - from sketches by Luigi Kasimir; often referred to as The Master European Printmaker. Illustrated with frontispiece, 29 full-page plates, and some in-text illustrations. German text by Fedor von Zobeltitz. All full-page plates have captioned tissue guards. Cities: Brussels, Antwerp, Bruges, Ghent, Louvain and Mechelen. Pictorial boards are somewhat age toned and bumped at the edges. The ribbon ties are still attached, but front ones are broken. Lacks slipcase. Inside excellent. 39, [1] + 29 plates. 340 x 260 mm (13½ x 10¼ inches).

Louvain: Chez C. L. Fonteyn, 1845. A second edition. Text in French. Later stiff card boards with blue cloth spine. - Both have a touch of darkening and rubbing. Owner's name to the front end paper. The rest of the book is clean and tidy, but with mild to moderate foxing. 120 pages. One folding map and one folding illustration to the rear of the book. Overall a very nice example. The author is attempting to demonstrate that religions around the world, shared core belief with Christianity from a time before the Jewish faith. München: Verlag der Jugendblätter (Carl Schnell), 1910. A lovely copy of this first edition - scarce in its original protective slipcase. Book is in beautiful original condition. Clean blue cloth with a picture of a small boy driving a carriage tipped onto the front board and gilt titles and decoration around and to the spine. No significant marking or bumping to the boards - in excellent condition. Inside in excellent, clean and unmarked condition. The card slipcase is a little darkened / foxed with age. Publication details are on a paper label pasted to the slipcase. Although this has a little bumping / edgewear - it has done its part and kept the book in near perfect condition. Complete with 32 pages of text in German (arranged in three columns), and 16 coloured steel engraved maps. Binding is rubbed at edges, but sound. Gilt stamped title to spine, and spine is rubbed. Text pages are somewhat foxed, but maps apear unaffected. Overall good. 255 x 335 mm (10 x 13¼ inches). 12. verbesserte Auflage. Gebunden. Dunkelbrauner Halbledereinband der Zeit. Fascinating biography of the famous Welsh Liberal Party politician, David Lloyd George - 1st Earl Lloyd-George of Dwyfor. He was Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1916 to 1922. Book and contents are clean. The dust jacket is somewhat rubbed and has been strengthened inside (imperceptibly from outside). 207 pages. Including several b/w photos. 195 x 135 mm (7¾ x 5¼ inches).

London: Hodder & Stoughton, 1909. A nice copy of this edition, with Heath Robinson's illustrations. 12 full page colour plates, Clean blue cloth with gilt titles & illustrations. There seem to be two variant bindings of the ordinary edition. This one, and another with a different gilt illustration and titles to the front board. This seems to be a cheaper edition, with 12, rather than 30 tipped in plates. A little rubbing to the boards. Very slight cracking to the rear hinge. Internally clean and tidy with a touch of foxing only. Two gift inscriptions - one 1913 and one 1921. Overall a very nice copy. Unpaginated. 205 by 155mm (8 by 6 inches).

These are numbered continuously: 1-114, 115-244 pp. This series of 85 anecdotes of Christian morality was issued in four series (this is the third). Hard paper covers (later than publication date). Paper labels to the spine. Text in Dutch. The covers are a little darkened and have some rubbing to the corners.
