Blue cloth with silver gilt title on spine. Inscribed, dated and signed by the author. Spotting and discoloration to cover, spine faded. Red ink stain on head. Text is unmarked. Binding sound. The author gives a history of Charles Abbott Kennedy [1844-1915]. He was born in Pennsylvania, served in the Union Army during the Civil War and later settled and farmed in Kansas. The second part of the book gives a history of the family going back to colonial days. Some dates have been corrected and a few notes added in ink..most likely by the author. Note: no relation to the other Kennedy family.

Bottom corners of 16 pages from title page on have been trimmed - looks like the bottom of the library embossment might have affected those pages. The first four pages have small tears at the spine join, about an inch and a half. Otherwise binding is solid and sound.
