Defective: the title page for volume 1 is missing. Both volumes rebound by the National Library Bindery in Atlanta, Georgia with new end sheets each volume. Volume one text block rebound in brown buckram with gilt title on the spine. Volume 2 has the original blind embossed illustrated brown cloth on the covers and spine rebacked onto brown buckram. Light to moderate scattered foxing and toning to the text both volumes. A few page edge tears and some tissue guards for the engravings are missing. The folding map in volume 2 has edge wear and a tape repair. A fair reference only.
