Boston: Perry Mason Company, 1886. First Edition First Printing . Soft cover. Very Good/No Jacket. Folio - over 12 - 15" tall. This Youth's Companion has been very well kept and is clean, tight and unmarked with minimal toning (a bit more at the edges) and a faint crease across the middle. It contains "How Patriot Decorated" by Bates, "At an Army Post" by a Beckett among many other stories and serials, fact and fiction. It contains many great period ads. It has pp: 273 - 284. It has pictorial wraps with a manly soldier in kepi amid a sea of flowers and a very small name on the front.

New York: Selmar Hess, 1894. First Edition First Printing . Soft cover. Good/No Jacket. Folio - over 12 - 15" tall. Ingres Pinxit, Cederstron Pinxit, et al.. These 7 large (12" x 9.75"0 pamphlets are basically, clean, tight, square and internally unmarked, but the names of the "prominent personages" presented are written across the top margins of the front wrap. The wrap are rubbed, more so at the yapped edges, age darkened (or sunned) and a few have split spines. They contain pp: 217-360, 385-408, clear, glossy pages illustrated with black & white plates (some tissue guarded) bound in light blue wraps with black titles and designs. The characters detailed are Frederic the Great, Napoleon Bonaparte, Duke of Wellington,Tecumseh, Oliver Perry,Winfield Scott, Garibaldi, among many others. They are undated, but 1894 is the accepted publication date for these series which were sold by subscription only.

London: Brendin Publishing, 1950. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Soft cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. This copy is tight, square and unmarked. It is lightly rubbed/bumped, particularly the spine. It contains Hilda's Letters (Hartley), Hymn (from the Bohemian) (H. D.), Judgement Under Taurus (Jones), among other works. Light yellow wraps with an orange outline and orange and black titles on the front and spine. It also contains many advertisements. pp 151 - 240

New York: E. P. Dutton, 1905. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Kate Street. This book is tight, square and internally unmarked, but there is a 1905 gift inscription on the ffep (which we have used to date the book). It is lightly rubbed, more so at the ends of the spine and tips of the corners which are rounded and has light surface soil. It has 48, clean, bright, glossy pages extensively illustrated with black & white drawings in a one-quarter binding with gilt titles. The boards are white with an oval color vignette against a field of pink flowers on the front.

Boston: Congregational Publishing Society, 1879. First Edition First Printing . Soft cover. Fair/good/No Jacket. Folio - over 12 - 15" tall. S. C. Swain. This little newspaper (4 pages) is rubbed at the edge with a short closed tear and has some light soil there also. There's a fold at the middle (it has been stored that way). It has several marvelous wood-cut illustrations. It contains "The Two Little Chimpanzees" by North, "Only One Match" by Gough, among other works.

It is lightly rubbed/bumped at the edge and there is some surface soil. It contains Father and Son (Pavey), Sark (Braddock), Sun and Water (Charles), among other works. Tan wraps with a red geometric design and black titles on the front. It also contains many advertisements. pp 371 - 446

It contains "The Waters of Jericho" by Spaulding, "King Willie" by Bolton, among other works.

New York: Townsend Mac Coun, 1887. Hardcover. Good+/No Jacket. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. This book was originally owned by Georgina Lewis (Oct. 15-1888) and she signed it thus on the front free end paper. The book was subsequently used in 1916-1917 by three of her sons at their various schools and they signed it, added the name of their school and a date. The author, historian genealogist Frederic Lewis Weis in 1917 and his brothers Richard Clapp Weis in 1917 and Francis Wilson Weis in 1916. Otherwise, the book is clean, tight, square and unmarked. It is lightly bumped/rubbed, more so at the ends of the spine which are mildly frayed. It has decorative end papers and 213, bright, clear pages (some earlier pages are lightly foxed) extensively illustrated with color maps and plates. The boards are covered with red brown cloth with black titles on the spine and front.

Portsmouth, NH: Peter E. Randall, 1986. First Edition First Printing . Trade Paperback. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. This book is basically clean, tight, square with good corners and unmarked. It is lightly rubbed and has some light surface soil. It has blue & white pictorial wraps with white titles on the front. It is illustrated with black & white photos and has 262 pages. This is and assumed first edition.

London: printed for Hunt and Clarke, 1827. Hardcover. Very Good+/No Jacket. 24mo - over 5 - 5¾" tall. This little (5.75" x 4") book is clean, tight, square with good corners and unmarked. It has a bookplate on the front paste down, is lightly rubbed and is age darkened. It has green marbled end papers and 347, clear, minimally foxed pages in a three-quarter binding with brown leather on the corners and spine. the spine has five raised bands with gilt titles in one of the panes. The boards are covered in dark blue/green cloth.

Boston: The Beacon Press, 1930. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. There is a small signature of the Maine collector F. S. Ricker inside the front board; otherwise it is clean, tight, square with sharp corners and unmarked. The spine is mildly sunned. The boards are covered with patterned, lime green cloth with gold titles and designs on the spine and front. It is illustrated with black & white photos and drawings and has 154 pages.

This book is clean, tight with good corners (1 lightly bumped) and internally unmarked (there is a date in the corner of the front paste down). It is in a good dust jacket with edge wear in mylar. It has a slight roll. It has 222, bright, clear pages, plus ads, bound in red cloth covered boards with black titles on the spine.

The boards are covered in patterned black paper with a gilt tied fly on the front.

It is clean, tight, square with sharp corners and unmarked in an acetate dust jacket and a slip case. The slip case has a good sized stain on the rear panel. It has tan end papers and 101, bright, clear pages illustrated with black & white drawings in a qone-quarter binding with brown leather and gilt titles on the spine. The boards are covered in tan paper decorated with drawings of flies. The author has signed the ffep.

It is lightly rubbed at the edges (a bit more so at the ends of the spine), the spine is mildly sunned. It has pale orange end papers and 274, bright, clear pages plus poem and ads in a three-quarter binding with red cloth on the corners and spine. There are gold titles on the spine and the boards are covered brown marbled paper. Several US publishers produced this book in 1890, but we think Harpers was the first.

There is light bumping/rubbing at the edges noticeable at the ends of the spine and corners and the pages are lightly toned. The rear hinge is split, but holding although the rear boards floats a bit. The boards are covered in light green cloth with gilt stamped titles on the spine and on the front where there is also a gold stamped facsimile Dickens signature. The book is illustrated with a series of black line drawings. There is some light soil at the edges. It has black end papers

New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1904. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Alfred Kappes. This book is clean, tight, square with good corners and internally unmarked. There is a book plate of Sit Galahad on the ffep and the top inch or so is missing, on the rear of the frontispiece there is a book plate and a pertinent note (King Arthur 520, Thomas Mallory 1470, William Caxton 1477). It is illustrated with glossy, black & white plates. The boards are covered in red cloth decorated in black with scroll work, shields and banners. They are lightly rubbed, mainly at the edges. The titles are in gold boxes on the spine and front. It has 403 pages plus ads.
