Later 19th century half red chagreen, spine with 4 raised bands, gilt lettered, gilt floral decorations within the compartments, marbled boards and end-papers. First edition. A very interestiong collection of 17 articles on dentistry and dental hygieneby this somewhat contradictious author. "Les écrits de L. Laforgue, reçu au Collège royale de Chirurgie et dentiste de pauvres du département de la Seine, contiennent des observations judicieuses et des préceptes avoués par la saine pratique..."(Jourdan, V, 347). Including an article about tooth transplantation and the poors who sold their healthy teeth to the rich for this purpose. Pp. 165-204 is devoted to the description of the dental instrumentarium.--(Stain in the inner lower side of the first 20 pages; some scattered foxing, but a very agreable copy).

Boissellerie Joseph Lamy was founded in 1890, and specialized in then production of the wellknown wooden boxes for cheese. This is there finely printed illustrated price list No. 88. The first part here in 2nd corrected & enlarged edition was originally published in 1773 as "Methode familière pour guérir les Maladies Vénériennes", and was nothing more than an attempt to promote the use of author's nostrum "chocolat aphrodisiaque & anti-syphilique".
