Bound by him in full red morocco decorated with a pattern of nine flowers, gilt, on the upper and lower covers, lettered gilt on the spine, with marbled endpapers and turnovers decorated with a flower in each corner, with the upper and lower panels of the original dustwrapper bound in at the rear. Although better known as a fine craftsman of furniture in the Arts and Crafts Style, perhaps influenced by his aunt, Kathleen Stubbs, a talented book binder who exhibited regularly in Birmingham, he enjoyed binding books from his own library, which as this example attests, was done artistically and to a very high standard
