New York, NY: Harcourt, Brace and Company, 1945 Harcourt, Brace and Company, New York. 1945. Stated First Edition. Book is tight, square, and unmarked. Book Condition: Very Good +; slight tail and lower tip wear from shelving; four small splash/paint spots on spine. No DJ. Black cloth boards and spine with bright gilt lettering on the spine. 309 pp 8vo. This book is the story of a six-week trip to Russia the author made in 1944. His premise is that Soviet Russia is a menace and a danger, and that no good thing can come out of Russia. He used this opportunity to report on his observations; to belittle the achievements, sneer at the methods, and lose no chance to make invidious comparisons. He gives little credit to the Russians for their war efforts and for the most part paints them in a very poor light. A clean very presentable copy.
