Description:
An uncommon book in any printing. 4 more stories of Miles Pennoyer, psychic detective, by the author of Number Seven, Queer Street. Jacket is unclipped, but somewhat frayed with several closed tears, some spine fading, and a shadow of smoke damage from a 1968 fire. Previous owner's note on FFE indicates it was received in the US in Feb 1960; the book was reprinted the first month it was printed (Oct 1959) and this is one of the second printings. Very few copies are available on the Internet, usually only one at a time. The previous owner was my father, which is how I know the date of the fire! Book is in near-Fine condition, jacket only Good.

Description:
First collected edition of the first three Earthsea books by Le Guin. These are some of the finest fantasy of the 20th century. This is an odd edition: the three novels each have their own pagination. This volume has become very scarce. This volume shows slight bumping at the spine ends, some browning of the pages (the paper on British volumes of this period is notorious for this problem), and is otherwise clean and crisp throughout. The jacket shows no tears or marks, and is not price-clipped. If you wish more pictures, please ask.

An incredibly geeky humor book, which requires a certain amount of knowledge of abstract mathematics to be funny. Scarce, and very amusing for the insider. This copy has a rubbed dustjacket with a few very small tears, slightly bumped corners, and a previous owner's discreet name, date, and place of purchase on the front free endpaper. Otherwise clean and tight. See pictures

Description:
Sauk City WI: Arkham House, 1949. First edition. Hardcover. Fine/fine. A potpourri of odd bits of Lovecraft essays and drafts, with some articles about him. Derleth thought at the time that this might be the last Lovecraft book from Arkham House, aside from the SELECTED LETTERS: he was not quite right about that. A nice copy of the book, in an exceptional dustjacket: clean and tight with minimal spine bumping and no fading or rubbing on the unclipped jacket. The endpapers show some burning from the cheap glue used in binding the book. A copy to grace any shelf. From the title essay: "I have no active dislike for dogs, any more than I have for monkeys, humans, tradesmen, cows, sheep or pterodactyls; but for the cat I have entertained a particular like and respect ever since the earliest days of my infancy." A man of discerning tastes indeed. TW

Description:
Sauk City WI: Arkham House, 1963. First edition. Staplebound. Near Fine/no dustjacket (as issued). First separate edition, and first annotated edition -- one of 500 copies printed by the Villiers Press in England for Arkham House. An uncommon Lovecraft chapbook. This copy shows a slight crease in the lower right quadrant (as if bumped, though the corner itself appears sharp and unbumped). A light steaming and putting it into a book press for a few days would probably make a serious difference. Slight browning to spine and top edge, small stains on back cover. Staples beginning to rust on the inside, not on the outside. Generally a nice copy, not as pristine as one might like but still presentable. TW
