Very good in near very good dust jacket. Some patchy toning to the mint green boards. No inscriptions. In original dustwrapper which is not price-clipped. The wrapper has minor edge nicks and tape strengthening head & tail of spine to reverse. 252pp. Undated (C1137 to reverse of title page indicating 1937). Colonel Ormiston of the Secret Service is asked to learn more about a tunnel that is being projected from Spain under the Straits of Gibralter to Cueta on the African coast. The possible military significance of the tunnel involves British interests and the results could be highly damaging. Wonderful 1930's dustwrapper.

Warmly inscribed as a souvenir of collaboration to the front endpaper to M. (Alfred) Fock (Chef d'Orchestre du Théâtre des Variétés) by Albert de Bertien (de Sauvigny), Gaston Jollivet and Ph. de Massa.

An important letter regarding subscriptions to erect a monument in memory of "the lamented Duke of York" who has been "has been falsely and shamefully traduced by the Catholic Leaders for his constitutional, candid & manly opposition to any further concessions being allowed them", and "for his resolute declaration to uphold the principles which placed the desired House of Brunswick on the Throne". Written and illustrated in watercolour by Jane Mackay who trained at the Byam Shaw School of Art and was attached to the Cyprus Museum for many years, as well as working at the British Museum and Pennsylvania Museum. "These vignettes were drawn whilst working in the Mediterranean in the 1960's" Signed by the author to the title page "Jane Mackay", with additional inscription in her hand to the front endpaper "To my special friend xx J".
