Very Good/No DJ. 4.75 x 7.4". 2 Two hardcover volumes, bound in half calf leather over marbled boards (brown and tan) with burgundy and gold detail. Marbling (brown and tan) is repeated on inside covers and free end papers. Covers of both books in very good condition, with light edge and surface wear. Spines have gild lettering, symbols and raised bands separating the 6 sections. Joints and bindings are structurally very good, with some stress to the paper of the interior joints. Clean pages, lightly tanned- Top edges gilt. I grade these as in Very Good condition.

NY: Harper & Row, 1986. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 6 x 9.25". First Printing 1 First Edition, First Printing hardcover in Very Good conditon including Very Good dust jacket. Boards have some sun fading on top edge else like new condition. DJ shows negligible wear.

New York: W.W. Norton & Co., 1955. First Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/no dj. 6x 9-1/4". First Printing 1 Red boards with gold lettering on front and spine. Spine is faded, edges have begun to show minute wear. 646 pages plus 20 page index. Pages are clean except front free end paper has red pencil and regular pencil markings indicating assigned readings. First 52 pages also have occasional light underlining with red pencil- almost negligible. Otherwise this book is in fine condition with almost new pages and tight binding.

Chicago: The Charles T. Powner Co., 1975. Hardcover. Very Good/No DJ. 4.75 x 7.5". 1 Hardcover in Very Good condition, no dj. Blue boards with gold lettering on spine. Minimal edge or surface wear. Small amount of sticker residue on bottom of front cover. Joints and binding like new. 364 spotless pages. Owner's inscription on ffep.

Pages clean. Dust jacket has edge wear including 2" tear at top of front joint. Also worn at head and tail as well as along top and bottom edges of the rear portion.3 very old scotch taped tears on front cover, totaling 5" in length. Previous owner's gift inscription on ffep.

White boards with red gilded lettering on spine. Minimal edge wear, small stain on the tail, and tape marks on front and rear cover. Inside covers, ffep and rfep have library stamps. Joints and binding are like new. Pages are clean. DJ is very good.

Green cloth boards witih gold lettering on front cover, and gold lettering 0ver black plaque on spine. Joints and bindingn very good. 383 clean, rough cut pages. No markings. DJ has edge wear including bumps and chips aling head and behind the tail. Surfaces have some rubbing of the gloss finish. The dj has protected this book well; an almost like new condition rating.

Beige boards with black wrap over spine containing gild lettering, in like new condition with negligible wear. Joints and binding like new. 295 spotless pages. DJ has minimal edge or surface wear. Sticker residue on front cover.

Minimal edge or surface wear. Joints and binding very good. Pages clean. Only markings are something crossed out in marker on ffep, and aged tape markings from old scotch tape that adheres the dust jacket to the covers. Somebody also wrote the author's year of death on rear inside cover. DJ is not price clipped.
