Both the book itself and the dust jacket have some wear at the head and tail of the spine. The dust jacket has some very small (less than 1/4th of an inch) tears at the base of the spine. (some would call chipping). 293 pages, interior of book is clean and binding is tight. Author writes like the medical insider he is. A fascinating novel!

New York: McGraw Hill Book Company, 1964. Deluxe Copy Number 982 . Hardcover. New/None. This copy was purchased directly from the MacArthur Memorial Foundation by this bookseller many decades ago. It is housed in the original slipcase and the slipcase is housed in the original book box with the number of the copy on it. It is truly a mint copy, having never been used nor read. It is my understanding that General MacArthur himself was to have signed these 1000 copies, but passed away before that was possible, therefore, they were signed by his wife, Jean MacArthur, and a facsimile signature of General Douglas MacArthur is printed above her signature. The general states in the preface that in the preparation of this record the import of the subject matter is his only claim to attention. The comments are his own and show how he saw the matters treated, whether others saw them in the same light or not. A very nice, mint, copy, available for immediate shipment, carefully packed in a sturdy box.

(The General passed away before he could sign this special limited edition of 1000 copies . The MacArthur Memorial Foundation Edition) Issued without dust jacket but with a slipcase with the book title and author on front and rear. Brown cover cloth, gold lettering. This copy has no number. Some spotting at very base of spine. A nice copy of a hard to find edition.

Cedar Rapids, Iowa: The Torch Press, 1925. Hardcover. Poor to Fair/None. A 292 page work with deckled edges on the bottom and outer edge of the pages. This book is ex-libris and has evidence of a card pocket on the inside to the back cover. Inside the front cover is a Railway Express label where apparently the book was sent from Seattle to Washington, D. C. years ago. On the ffep there is a bookplate of the Fort Lauderdale Garden Club and below that a Ft. Lauderdale Garden Club stamp, below that in pencil "from Hon. W. E. Chantland". Age toning is present, inside the front and back covers and elsewhere. There is wear at the head and tail of the spine and corner wear. This is a work about Iowa, and higher education and life in that area from earliest times until date of publication. For a roughly century old work, it is still readable with no loose pages at present. Available for immediate shipment, carefully packed in a sturdy box.

This is a story of the transitional period in the framework of the great American West and the range cattle industry. With regard to dust jacket some smudging on the cover looks better now that it is in an archival quality cover. The book itself has small stain at end of cover page and light wear at top of spine. All in all a pretty nice copy.

The dust jacket is protected in an archival quality cover. There is light tearing and chipping at the head and tail of the spine of the dust jacket; also some corner wear. Two names appear on the ffep and a small (app. 1/4th of an inch) mark at the bottom of that page. An inspection of this work finds no underlining, no highlighting, no bookplates, no dog-eared or folded pages. Very minor wear at head and tail of spine. Given the age of this work (80+ years) it is in remarkable shape. Binding is still tight. A highly serviceable copy.

A 14 page pamphlet of a medium bomber pilot's missions over Europe during WWII. This interview was part of the oral histories of WWII project of the Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum. The interview took place at the home of "Mac" MacDonald in Louisville, Colorado. The interviewer was Dick Palmer. A very nice copy; available for immediate shipment, carefully packed.

There is some marking in the margins and on one page two words are highlighted in yellow. I also found a very few sentences in the book underlined in red. (less than ten, I believe) On the contents page at the beginning of the work where the photographic section is said to start (page 146) is blackened out (appears to be done by the publisher) and the photographic section is at the rear of the volume. Dust jacket is protected in an archival quality Brodart cover. Dust jacket is not price-clipped. There is wear at the head and tail of the spine of the dj and along the bottom edges there is wear a two small tears. All in all, given its age, the work is in better shape than most copies. The copy here is number 65 signed in blue pen by the author Effie Mona Mack. The cover has been replaced by a sturdy new brown cover with the title, author and publisher in gilt over black. This was done by a English professionally trained book binder. Top of page edges are gilt and side and bottom edges are deckled. 495 pages, illustrations, maps, bibliography and index. Tissue guard in front of title page is intact and not torn with several light brown spots. Book itself is protected with a clear archival quality cover. Not only is this book one of the best and most accurate histories of Nevada ever published, it is a valuable contribution to the history of the entire Far West. The covers of the volume are red, maroon or burgundy, take your choice. The frontispiece is tissue guarded with no tears in the tissue, the fold out map is in fine shape, a bit darker in color than the book pages. There is light wear at the head and tail of the spine and the top outer corner has a light bump, other corners show light wear. All in all, a quite presentable and serviceable copy; available for immediate shipment; carefully packed in a sturdy box.
