1952. Hardcover. Book is in nice shape with very little handling wear. Interior pages are free of tears, marks, creases. Dust jacket is mostly clean with a small amount of general wear, most notably a bit of wrinkle at the top edge of the spine area, and noticeable spine discoloration from light exposure. There's also one little water spot on the spine, like a single tear fell upon it.

Dust jacket is still covered with original glassine (like wax paper) protective sleeve, which has a few small rips. Dust jacket itself is solid except for a few dings at the top/bottom of the spine.

1927. Hardcover. Decent copy of this nearly century-old book, but not perfect. "Modern" painting in this case is mostly Romanticism and Impressionism, with a bit of Modern Art (as we'd think of it today) near the end. Interior pages show slight to moderate age-related yellowing. No rips, or bends, but there are a few pages with pencil annotations. No dust jacket. Binding feels a little loose; interior of back cover seems like it's separating a little. A good reading/reference copy, but maybe not a collectible.
