Light wear to extremities, 1.5cm tear at crown, with light, scattered soil to wrappers, and a medium-sized stain to rear wrapper, briefly affecting terminal (blank) leaf; clean throughout; Very Good+. Scholarly article on the butterfly genus Lycaeides Hübner, occupying the entire issue of the Bulletin of the Museum of Comparative Zoölogy at Harvard College (Vol.101, No.4 - February, 1949). Scarce; we find no examples for sale in the trade or in the auction record, with OCLC locating 29 copies, of these, 17 in US institutions. APG 013a.

Black paper over boards, titled in silver on spine, red topstain, in tan dust jacket; 319,[1]pp. Rubbled at lower edge and tapped at head, minor marks to lower edge and foxing to fore-edge, slight foxing to rear endpapers, else Very Good. Jacket unclipped (priced 21s) rubbed at edges, small chips at head and tail, short tear at head, minor discoloration to verso of spine: around Very Good. [62817].

Black cloth in dust jacket; 8vo. 213 pp. One of the least common of the VN McGraw-Hill titles, this was the author's own film script written for Stanley Kubrick. This version was never filmed. A fine copy, in a very good complete (not price-clipped) dust jacket, minor wear, light creasing along the edges, two short closed tears; the verso has two tape reinforcements at the crown and foot of the spine. Light toning to the verso, but the dust jacket is bright and as they say it still presents well (in a removable archival protective cover).

Nabokov's seventh novel, first published in English by John Long in 1937. Basis for Rainer Werner Fassbinder's 1978 film of the same name, starring Dirk Bogarde. JULIAR A15.3.

Andover, MA: Canto, Spring 1977. First Edition. The first issue of this literary magazine with an essay by J. D. O'Hara on Nabokov (pp. 146-155), a review of Heaney's NORTH by W. M. Spackman, and poems by Allen Grossman, Daryl Hine, Thom Gunn, James Merrill, among others. Bottom rear corner creased, otherwise close to fine.

Norman, OK: The University of Oklahoma Press, 1954. First Edition. With an 18 page essay by Glebe Struve on "The Double Life of Russian Literature" on émigré literature including over a page on Nabokov. Struve was an early admirer of Nabokov/Sirin, having done critical work on him in French beginning in the twenties. He, also, was the first to translate VN into English, with "The Return of Chorb" in 1932 in This Quarter. A year after this journal was published this rather obscure Russian émigré would publish Lolita in Paris, and become one of the most famous writers in the world. This copy is age-toned, with pieces of the spine loose, but intact, and otherwise about fine in wraps.

Octavo (21.25cm.); publisher's white pictorial staplebound card wrappers; 60pp. Minor wear and toning, previous owner has neatly colored in cover illustration, else Very Good or better. We find no record of this title or the serial in OCLC as of January, 2018.
