Description:
New York: Frederick A. Stokes Compnay, 1927. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Very Good cloth first edition with gilt lettering on spine and cover and Good DJ in protective Brodart mylar cover. Gilt lettering is slightly faded but quite legible and attractive. Spine is straight and tight. Christmas gift inscription dated 1927 on front free end paper. Tanning to title page and frontis that suggests an enclosure may have been laid in for some years. Age toning to all pages commensurate with age. Original bookseller's adhesive stamp (1 inch x 1/2 inch) at bottom of back end paper. DJ is quite good except for a large1 X1 inch tear at top of front right corner and a few smaller blemishes: chipping and 1/8 inch tear to bottom of front cover and spine and a series of creases that run from top to bottom at front edge of front cover. Price is still present at top corner of DJ flap, but all four corners have been trimmed (see image). Not sure if that…

Description:
UK: na, 1923. 1st Edition 1st Printing. No Binding. Fine/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Handwritten (fountain pen) letter signed by Nobel prize winning poet Alfred Noyes on personal stationery, Nov. 21, 1923. The telephone number is angled at the left upper corner and original staple holes are parallel to that phone number, so I assume this note was stapled to other pages (probably the poems to be published). The note is a response to an editor (Deighton) agreeing to publish poems in an anthology. The note was folded once in the middle and once on the right edge. Some light penciled notes appear on the back. 5 x 7 inches.
