Petro Oliinyk (1914 - 1942) was a Ukrainian journalist and community and political activist. He was also editor of the Ukrainske slovo journal and a member of OUN's expeditionary groups. He would be one of the intelectuals shot by the Nazis at Babyn Yar. Author of several publicistic works and historical studies, the current book would be his last work. The cover design was created by Mykhailo Mykhalevich (1906 - 1984) - renowned Ukrainian-American graphic artist, theater decorator, and icon painter.

Modesto, CA: E. & J. Gallo Winery, 1948. Four broadsides; 9 1/4 x 11 1/2; small punctures to upper margins (from thumbtacks); light age-toning to margins and minor wear to edges and corners; a few small, unobtrusive, unfortunate pen marks to two of them; cartoon illustrations; very good condition. Two of the broadsides with Bill O'Malley's signature (in facsimile), the other two presumably also by him as the art and humorous subtitles are identical. What appear to be unrecorded broadsides advertising Gallo wine and E. & J. Gallo Winery, which was established in 1933, is the largest winery in the world today, and spans three generations of the Gallo family. The cartoons, showing people running to get wine, clutching bottles, and having hilarious conversations, were created by Bill O'Malley - a renowned and prolific American cartoonist, active from the 1940s until his death in the 1970s and best known for his his cartoons starring the two nuns Sister Maureen and Sister Colleen.

Ievhen Onatskyi (1894 - ?) was a Ukrainian author, member of the Ukrainian Central Rada, librarian of the Kiev Municipal Museum, and member of the Ukrainian delegation to the Paris Peace Conference. He was also with the Ukrainian diplomatic service in Italy and taught at the University of Rome until 1943, when he was arrested by the Gestapo. He immigrated to Argentina in 1947, where he continued writing and researching Ukrainian cultural heritage. His current work, one of his earlier ones, was a personal narrative of WWII.
