Millerton (New York): Stamperia Valdonega (Martino Mardersteig, Verona), for SADEV (The Garden Ltd, Millerton), distributed by Farrar, Straus & Giroux (New York), 1987 ¶ First edition, trade issue (600 copies), of the author's first published book, "a handsome production, flush with revealing, if rather disturbing, poetic sentiments" (Basbanes). The text consists of a Preface dated 23/24 February 1986, seventeen poems, and a prose Coda; the whole is dedicated in dubious Greek to the author's wife Lorea (d. 1997). The present copy is warmly INSCRIBED "in appreciation for . . . the Catalogue of the Collection of The Garden Ltd. and a record-breaking auction.
