Good. 9 Popish Plot tracts collection items, specifically #4, #9, #10, #11, #13, #15, #16, #19 and #25 about this political and religious controversy from 1679 to 1682.Concocted by Titus Oates and others (Israel Tonge, William Bedlow, Robert Jenison, and Edward Tuberville), the Popish plot (1678-1681) was an alleged Catholic conspiracy to re-introduce the Catholic faith into England and to assassinate Charles II. Despite it being a fiction, belief in the plot became widespread. At least 22 Catholics were sent to their deaths. Anti-Catholic hysteria precipitated the Exclusion Bill Crisis, which attempted to exclude the King's brother and heir presumptive, James, Duke of York (a Catholic), from the thrones of England, Scotland and Ireland.
