London: Joseph Robins, 1838. First edition. Hardcover. Very good. Oblong 8vo (5 by 6 inches, but extending to nearly 10 feet when opened). Green cloth boards printed in black and gilt, endpapers in non-pareil design. A very good copy showing only light wear, and protected in a custom clamshell case. This panorama consists of engravings entirely hand-colored, and shows every portion of the Royal and Civic Procession, as well as the whole line of streets from Temple Bar to Guildhall, with their decorations, booths of the City Companies, Christ's Hospital, etc. Each carriage is identified by a caption in the lower margin. Victoria became Queen in June of 1827. This grand procession was her first royal visit to the City of London.

Text contain three pages of explanation and illustrations of Japanese papermaking, as well as samples of the three basic materials: Khozo (Broussonetia kijinoki), Mitsumata (Edgeworthia papyriferae) and Gampi (Wikstroemia sikokina). This is followed by 51 large samples of handmade papers suitable for wallcoverings. A dealer label is affixed to the upper board, somewhat bent at the corners; some of the samples have been folded at the corners, else this is a very good copy of a scarce item, with only mild rubbing of the boards.

This superb example of fine printing features a linocut by Artemio Rodriguez showing the famed Mexican singer Isabel Vargas Lizano (known as Chavela), wearing her trademark jorongo. Issued in commemoration of the centenary of her birth. Four decimas by renowned poets in her honor have been finely printed letterpress at the Taller Martín Pescador. The 'decima' is a ten-line form of poetry generally consisting of four stanzas, forty lines, in an ABBAACCDCC rhyme scheme. The decimas on this broadside are addressed to her, warmly praising her talent. . Limited edition, though the limitation is unknown to us. In Spanish. Shipped carefully rolled.

The title page bears an illustration of the tempation of St. Antony, attributed to the author in an 1886 periodical and inspired by a 1646 Florentine painting by Salvatore Rosa. Three tipped-in photographs of people involved in the story, and two cuts of printing presses, also featured in the story. Bound in dark brown wraps, printed title label on the upper wrap. A fine copy. While the limitation is not shown, the printer advises that there were 56 copies only. Finely printed by Juan Pascoe at the Taller Martín Pescador. The text is reprinted from The Sword and the Trowel, L., 1886. It is the beginning of the story of Pascoe's Protestant mission in Mexico. James Pascoe is the great-grandfather of the printer, Juan Pascoe.
