The volume is bumped on the spine tail and has some lilght tearing of the cloth on the crown. The price clipped dust jacket, sleeved in mylar, has lifting laminate along the top edge, a chip (1/8" x 1/2") on the top edge of the rear panel, and heavy vertical creasing on both flaps.

The volume is bumped at the corners and spine ends, and has several spots of soiling on the front panel. The dust jacket, sleeved in mylar, is uniformly clipped on all corners (price of $3.50 is intact) and has some severe chips (to a depth of 1" at both spine ends) and an ugly jagged tear with crease on the top of the rear panel.

The lightly rubbed volume has light offsetting to the front endpaper (and jacket flap) from something having once been laid in. The unclipped dust jacket, is gently sunned on the spine spine, edge rubbed to include the joints and folds, and is unevenly toned (more so on the rear panel). The jacket is now protected in mylar.

The volumne is bumped at the base of the spine and there is an ink ownership name and date on the front endpaper. The unclipped dust jacket, sleeved in mylar, is lightly worn on the edges.

The volume is edge rubbed and has two short slits on the spine crown (longest is 3/16"). The rubbed, unclipped, dust jacket, is chipped at the spine ends and corners (longest is 1/4" on the spine crown), has four closed tears (1/2" & less), and a corner crease on the bottom front as well as a small hole on the rear panel.

The endpapers have some off-setting, leaves are lightly toned and a few of the gutters are over-opened. Laid in is a newspaper obituary and another partial newspaper obituary.

Dark Blue cloth, cream colored paper spine label with gilt border and lettering (this detail is mentioned because the book presents better without the jacket). The volume is lightly edge rubbed with tiny slits on the spine tail. The price clipped dust jacket is devoid of any original spine coloring and lettering and has been replaced with a montage of browns and yellows streaked with splashes. The jacket is chipped at the corners and spine ends, is edge rubbed, soiled on the rear panel, but continues to be useful in keeping the boards clean. The jacket is sleeved in mylar.
