Paris: Librairie Vanier, 1893 ¶ FIRST EDITION, and indeed the only separate edition, of Verlaine's biographical sketch of Francis Poictevin, a minor Symbolist writer. Verlaine's work is enlivened here by Luque's punning caricature of Poictevin as a corkscrew. The artist's most famous work was his caricature of Rimbaud coloring the vowels 1888 (Dillon no. H000335).
