Image on spine is faded. Bumped corners. Front free endpaper has been professionally replaced. Foxing to endpapers and a touch of foxing to the first third of the pages. Text is clean and unmarked.

This is a great showcase of the architects who originally designed the houses. In some cases the author is able to provide a comparison between the original house and its present day condition. The author and curator of this book was a former president of the Landmarks Preservation Advisory Board. The dust jacket has some light shelf-wear but otherwise pages are clean and unmarked.

This appears to be a reissue of a famous 1851 book which covers the topics of eating well at the lowest possible price, how to dine at restaurants, wines, recipes and nutritional principles. Laid in is a card from the very famous Paris restaurant A. Beauvilliers. While we are unable to date the card, the owner Edouard Carlier passed away in 2003. We were only able to find two other copies available in the trade and one copy in auction records (RBH). Please contact us with any questions. Paper covered boards are rubbed, corners rubbed and bumped, wear to all edges, Spine sunned. Dampstaining to rear board. Hinges are sound, paper is discolored, highlighting to one recipe on page 236. Overall very good. Small octavo size, approximately 4 5/8" by 7 1/8
