Bound in original brown cloth with largely bright gilt lettering to spine. Volume admits to a number of small bumps to extremities of volume, with light to medium wear and light soiling in places to exterior. Small sunned area to back cover. Bookseller's label (Thomas Baker of London) to front paste-down. Splitting to paper over hinges, though binding remains sound and firm. Faint, largely faded inscription in ink in a neat hand to front free endpaper. Some foxing to edges of pages, as well as some early and late leaves; else, minor tanning to paper and just a touch of foxing to remainder of interior. Institutional ink-stamp to verso of title-page; else, aside from the aforementioned inscription, text clean. Overall, a nice, clean, sound and attractive copy
