Corresponding 1936 dates to the title and copyright pages; no additional printings. Signed by the author, without inscription, on the title page. With two double-page maps and a frontispiece by Margo Wharton, in color. Bookplate of Norwegian-American collector Herman Gimmestad to the front pastedown, otherwise unmarked. The author, a Minneapolis attorney, presents his ideas of bringing the country back into its prime, with emphasis on the Bible. The cloth shows only slight edgewear, with no splits or frays. Spine very faintly sunned. Hinges solid; binding square. A clean, tight copy. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall

Kjobenhavn: Trykt Paa Forfatterens Forlag, 1824. Hardcover. Good. 1824 date on the title page. This is been improperly repaired at some time in the past. The book is bound in gray cloth with what to appear to be the original leather corners showing some scuffing and rubbing. The spine has been replaced with a type of tape which gives a poor imitation of fake leather. The hinges are taped with some old and poorly done binder tape so that the book does not open properly at the hinges, although the rest of the book opens easily and properly. The pages are clean and flexible. On a front blank endpaper is the bookplate of Rasmus Anderson and his signature with a 1878 date. On the inside of the front cover is the bookplate of Scandinavia collector Herman Gimmestad.

New York: Street & Smith, 1899. Hardcover. Very Good-/No Jacket. Bound in green cloth with cover titles and decorations stamped in red and black; spine titles stamped in gilt. No additional printings; no ads. 289 pages. The cloth shows mild edgewear with a small fray at the heel. Front hinge a trifle weak, but showing only a 1" separation in the center. The front free endpaper has a former owner's information in ink, along with some faint pencil ghosting. The volume is otherwise unmarked. All contents clean and tight. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall

The cloth shows no wear; the dust wrapper has a trace of edgewear and very faint rubbing. A clean, tight copy with the dust jacket in mylar. Uncommon signed. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall

The book was evidently distributed by Max Bretschneider; his small sticker is affixed to the front cover verso and an unused postal card, addressed to the Libreria M. Bretschneider, is laid in. Tall 16mo, with a double-page floor plan of Villa Adriana at page 174. Signed by the author "with the author's best respects" to a resident of the Hotel Michel, whose name appears above the inscription. The author provides a guided tour of Rome for tourists, including information on restaurants, hotels, etc. A few pencil checks in the index, otherwise unmarked.
