Advertising a rail tip to Chicago on Sunday, August 20, 1899, via the Lake Erie & Western Railroad and the Wabash Railroad. Return is from Dearborn Station Chicago. Baseball: "See the Great Base Ball Game, Chicago vs. Cleveland". It was the Orphans vs. the Spiders. Chicago won, 8-7. Bicycles: "Take your wheel along! Baggage Car Provided for their Accommodation." Some trip! Lightly browned, soiled along the top and edges, rough along the fragile edges, but in very good condition, especially considering how fragile the paper is. William B. Burford, who had served in the Civil War, took over his father's printing business in 1875 and eventually held the printing contact for the state of Indiana.

Advertising a rail tip to Chicago on Sunday, September 12, 1897, via the Lake Erie & Western Railroad and the Wabash Railroad. Return is from Dearborn Station Chicago. e Visit the Field Columbian Musum, the Ferris Wheel, Cycloramas, Libby Prison, the Drainage Canal. Bicycles: "Be sure and take your wheel. You will need it to ride in the Magnificent Parks and on the Great Boulevards." Some trip! Lightly browned, soiled along the top and edges, two short closed marginal tears (no loss), a nick on the left margin and a couple of nicks at the upper right corner, some aging around the edges, but in very good condition, especially considering how fragile the paper is. William B. Burford, who had served in the Civil War, took over his father's printing business in 1875 and eventually held the printing contact for the state of Indiana.

Unpublished (so far as we can tell) typescript. 8½ by 11 inches, punched into a card binder. 289 pages many of which contain corrections in the author's hand. Laid-in is a letter from the author to Ernest Grant discussing his corrections and enclosing revised pages 2, 3, 5 and 7. The manuscript is inscribed by Ramus to Ernest and Catharine Grant, 1959. A very good copy. Ramus was the author of "The Ephemeris of Great Comets". This typescript purports to be "by far the fullest account of important comets.... Herein we describe more than 90 great and otherwise important naked-eye comets from 1402 to 1948."

London: Chapman and Hall, 1865. Stiff card wraps. Fine. (iv), 16pp. Slim 8vo. Stiff wraps. Illustration by T. E. Webster as a frontispiece, repeated in part on the upper wrap. Tissue guard protects the frontispiece. Rare edition of Gammer Gurton, which was first published in 1784 by Joseph Ritson. This edition features not only much of Mother Goose, but other rhymes as well, and include two about King Arthur. And some rhymes have words that vary from the accepted norm. Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall. Humpty Dumpty had a great fall. Threescore men, and threescore more, Cannot place Humpty Dumpty as he was before. OCLC dates this edition as of about 1846, and credits Walter and George Mason as the wood engravers for Webster's drawing. This copy is one of the many variants, being bound in cream colored wrappers, black and white illustrations and no publisher's ads. This copy comports to variants A - J in the Renier collection. A fine copy in publisher's stiff wraps.
