Description:
Kassel: Liselotte Hamecher, 1983. Hardcover. Good/fair. Text in German. Roughly translated, the title in English would be "100 years of steam shipping 1807 - 1907 - descriptions and sketches from the developmental history of the steam ship." Blue cloth hardcover with gilt spine lettering in dustjacket. This is the 1983 re-issue of the 1907 publication. A good copy in a fair dustjacket. Some soiling and light staining at the board edges, along with thumbing to the front textblock edge. A hard bump to the heel of the spine. Large gift inscritpion to the front endpaper in blue sharpie marker appears to be the only writing in the book. Binding and hinges are solid and the pages are clean. Fold out schematic bright and intact at rear. The dustjacket is chipped and torn, only fair - but holding together. 300 pp., 125 black and white illustrations and photos.
