Otherwise clean and unmarked.  Very light scattered foxing, with a small dark stain at top edge of last few pages. Map has a few foxing spots and a repaired closed tear where it attaches to the book. Ramel's "journal and testimony" regarding the Coup of 18 Fructidor and his deportation to a Guiana penal colony in 1797, from which he escaped in 1798.  (cfm)

Some handling wear, grime, and age toning to the covers. Some pencilled bookseller markings to corner of ffep. Otherwise contents are clean and bright. Binding is square and tight. Overall a very nice copy. The author held government posts during the period and provides his observations on the Fall of Herrera, Revolution and Government of Paredes, Santa Anna Assumes Power, Civil War in Mexico City, and The Mexican War Draws to a Close. With lovely illustrations throughout on heavy cardstock pages.   The dust jacket is still in one piece, but soiled and heavily worn, with chips and tears to edges and folds.

All illustrations and maps are present as called for. The binding is tight but front hinge is cracked, as well as several places through book (64/65, 160/161 and 240/241), with rear hinge still intact.  A good solid copy.
