A record of the Third Commission of H M S Suffolk during 1933-35 by Instructor Lieut. -Commander R G Howard, with accounts of visits to numerous locations including Bali, Borneo and Nagasaki and events such as "Crossing the Line" and a Japanese tea ceremony. The Suffolk was built in Portsmouth in 1924, commissioned in 1928 and served on the China Station until the outbreak of World War II; during the War she was part of the Norwegian Campaign which included her tracking the Bismarck through the Denmark Strait.
