The books were sewn on a National Book sewing machine and William Bosch Jr. did the gold foil stamping of the cases. Catherine (1835-1910), Matilda (1839-1928), and Elizabeth (1837-1925) each wrote a manuscript which tells of the trials, tribulations and joys of the Sager family on the Oregon Trail and at their home at Waiilatpu.
