Test in Italian about Picasso. Jamie Sabartes was Pablo Picasso's secretary until his death. The were good personal friends and Picasso painted him in his 'blue' phase in 1901.

A collection of poetry by Wellesley women, including one of the first book appearances by Helen Hoover Santmyer, a 1918 graduate, whose first novel Ohio Town didn't appear for another 37 years, and her novel ... And Ladies of the Club didn't become a bestseller for an additional 22 years, thus 59 years after this appearance. 52 Libraries have this book but few that are signed by Shackford. Shackford wrote on the poetry of Elizabeth Barrett Browning in the Atlantic. She published other books but was stingy with her signature. Only one copy located. This is her alma mater work as Professor of English Literature at Wellesley College. Book does not have its dust cover and has a bump at the top with wear to the spine at the head and heel. Snow, Edward Rowe (August 22, 1902 Winthrop, Massachusetts - April 10, 1982) Pirates and Buccaneers of the Atlantic Coast. (1944) Stated First Edition with poetic bookplate of Leo Kelley. 8vo, 350 pp. Numerous illustrations. Illustrator not listed. Snow was an American author and historian. He was the son of Edward Sumpter and Alice (Rowe) Snow. He graduated from Harvard University, and Boston University, with an M.A. Snow married Anna-Myrle Haegg, on July 8, 1932, and they had a daughter Dorothy Caroline. He was a high school teacher in Winthrop, Massachusetts. During World War II, he served with the XII Bomber Command, and he became a first lieutenant. He was a daily columnist at The Patriot Ledger newspaper in Quincy, Massachusetts from 1957-82. 2 Page letter to a publisher of a Newspaper dated Cork, 27 April, 1842 describing a 5 Sovereign coin and a critic by R. Southill about the coin. Mentioning that his papers were retried from the Literary Gazette Numismatic and that he plans on publishing something soon (within a year). Separation at the fold about half way up affecting on word at bottom, toning but otherwise good condition. Water marked paper, looks to be dated 1841. Rare bit of numismatic reference.
