The gray, paper covers of this booklet are in good condition; there is some faint writing on the front cover and the cover edges are worn and toned. The front cover is partially detached. There is no writing or foxing detected on the interior pages. The pages are toned and creased in some areas. In general, the interior pages are clean and in good plus condition. The booklet is protected in a clear, removable plastic sleeve with backing board.

The tan, paper covers of this booklet are in good condition although they are partially detached from the spine. The cover edges are worn and frayed with a couple of chips missing. There is a small library stamp on the front cover and inside of the back cover. A previous owners' name and a few numbers are written on the top of the front cover; the previous owners' name is also on the title page. The interior pages of this book are in very good condition. They are clean and bright, with no foxing detected. An advertisement for the Annals of The New York Academy of Sciences is tipped in the back. The booklet is protected in a clear, removable plastic sleeve with backing board.

The dark blue covers are in very good condition, with only minor bumping/rolling on top and bottom of spine and corners; there is one small spot on the back cover. The title, author and publisher are in gold on the front cover and spine. There is some minor fading to the spine, but the writing is still very readable. The binding is solid. The interior of this book is in very good condition. There is no writing or foxing detected in the book; there are two small erasures (pencil) on the front free end paper. Otherwise, the pages mildly toned and generally clean. The book is illustrated by Arthur Middleton and includes many black and white drawings and photographs throughout the book. This is a nice copy of a book that appears to be relatively uncommon.

There is some creasing and color fading near the spine on both the front and back cover. The spine is faded as well. The title and author are in black lettering on front cover. The stapled binding is solid. the staple are showing in only a couple of small areas. The interior of the book is in very good condition. There is no writing (besides the author inscription) or significant spotting/foxing detected; the pages are bright. The book contains several essays about the local history of the Hudson Valley region.
