This is 39/75 of a signed limited edition printing of this collection of poems by the esteemed Welsh poet R.S Thomas which also contains 3 paintings by the British surrealist painter Paul Nash. The signature is on the limitation page found at the end of the book. The hardcover book comes in a black slipcase. The slipcase has some minor shelf-wear. The book is in fine condition with clean and unmarked pages.

Full-page glossy color photography throughout. Signed by Sachs on title page. Condition: Some rubbing to head and tail edges of covers, minor warping to fore-edge tail of rear cover and final 150 pages. Sachs' signature on title page is bright and intact, tiny tear to fore-edge of page 21, many pages of photography appear unopened and unread. A very good copy of this rare volume documenting Sachs' exhibition.

Stated first edition in an unclipped jacket of Oliver Sack's award-winning account of 'Parkinson's disease and sleeping sickness and the effects of the drug L-Dopa'. The unclipped dust jacket, now in protective plastic shows minor wear to the corners and the head and tail of the spine. The upper corner of the front flap reads 'A. $7.95'. The front endpaper has a small note in red pen 'thesis p. 232', while the indicated page has a red line in the margin identifying a passage of particular interest. Otherwise the interior is clean, square, and unmarked.

It's an illicit act. It's unfair. Suppose you had a coat you liked and somebody went into your closet and stole it. That's how I feel." ("J.D. Salinger Speaks About his Silence", Lacey Fosburgh, The New York Times, November 3, 1974). Toning with age, smudges from handling to the covers of both volumes. Both bear the name of a previous owner, "Pat Lamerdin", Patricia Lamerdin, the San Francisco potter, painter, and gallery owner (who apparently used her cheques as bookmarks).
