It is rubbed at the edges where there are some wrinkles and very short closed tears.. It contains Flamingos in France (Coward), A War-Time Adventure in the Holy Land (Klarwill), Dragged by a Zeppelin (Schneider) among other articles. Tan wraps with black titles over stapled pages. Pages 605 through 650, plus many advertisements. Has some black and white drawings as illustrations.

This copy is tight and square, but worn at the edges and has a faint library stamp on the front wrap. The Wreck of the Steamer Portland, Margaret Fuller's Schooldays, Nathaniel Hawthorne at Bowdoin among other articles. Pages 191 - 381.

Paris: La Maison des Amis des Livres, 1926. First Edition First Printing 1st Printing. Hardcover. Very Good+/No Jacket. This is four issues of Le Navire d'Argent bound in blue cloth covered boards with embossed gold title on the spine. The magazines are in near fine condition with some toning. The text is in French. The book is lightly rubbed at the edges. It contains "La Chanson d'amour de J. Alfed Prufrock" (Eliot), "La Legend du Roi d'un Jour" (Chenneviere), "Anais" (Bost), "La Genie et la Foi de William Blake" (Swinburnel), among many other works. There is a table of contents for the book at the rear. There are also translations of several William Blake Poems.

It is rubbed at the edges with a short closed tear at the bottom of the front wrap at the spine. The white wraps have a stunning full color picture of a dark haired young woman in a red blouse with a bunch of bright cherries in her hair. The pages are toned, but are clear and still flexible. It has 288 pages plus ads.

This book is clean, tight, square with sharp corners and unmarked in an about very good dust jacket. The book has very light foxing at the page edges while the dust jacket has some edge wear with a short closed tear at the top. It has 280, bright, clear pages illustrated with black & white drawings and photos bound in blue boards with gold titles on the spine. A newspaper article on the "White Salamander Plot" is laid in.

Boston: C. D. Strong, 1832. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 16mo - over 5¾ - 6¾" tall. This copy is clean, tight, square and, but for an owner's stamp on a front end paper, unmarked. It is rubbed at all edges to the extent the corners are rounded and the paper is off the rear board at the lower corner. The pages are toned and couple are chipped at the upper corner. It has a one-quarter binding with brown cloth on the spine over light blue paper covered boards. There are gold titles on the spine (surprisingly legible).

New York: D. Appleton, 1907. First Edition Later Printing 2nd Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. The publication date is 1907, the copyright date is 1907 and the copyright page states published February, 1907, but the last page has a (2). This book is clean, square with pretty good corners and is unmarked. It is lightly rubbed, noticeable at the ends of the spine and tips of the corners. It has 340, bright, clear pages, plus ads, bound in gray and orange cloth covered boards with white titles on the spine and front. There a line on the spine. The bar designs on the front are slightly raised.

Boston: Lee and Shepard, 1878. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 16mo - over 5¾ - 6¾" tall. This book is lean, tight, square and internally unmarked, but there is a pencil name on a front flyleaf. It is lightly rubbed at the edges, a bit more at the ends of the spine and the paper on the front hinge is cracked at the bottom, but the hinges are solid. It has dark green end papers and 267, clear pages red edged all around bound in green cloth covered, blind stamped boards with gold titles on the spine and front. There's faint damp stain at the bottome of the last dozen or so pages.

Lugduni Batavorum: Joannis Maire, 1656. Vellum. Very Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. This book is clean, tight, basically square and internally unmarked, but there is a small name on the title page and a book mark verso (alexander Grantt). It is lightly rubbed and the white vellum is slightly discolored. It has 473, bright, clear pages plus index It is missing the frontispiece.

Boston: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1880. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 16mo - over 5¾ - 6¾" tall. This book is clean, basically tight, square and unmarked. It is rubbed at the edges. It has black end papers and 184, bright, clear pages illustrated with black & white plates (red edged all around) bound in brown cloth covered boards with gilt titles on the spine and front.

U. S. A.: The Harvard Theological Review, 1929. Hardcover. Fine/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. This book may have been published specifically for Addison as it has his initials on the spine, it certainly was his copy as he has written on the first title page "Just the thing for summer reading" and has put his initials "J. T. A." on the second title page. This is a hard bound version of reprints of the two article which have there stiff, brown paper wraps bound in boards. The hard binding has no publication date and the date we have used is the later of the two articles. This book is clean, tight, square with sharp corners and unmarked. The boards are covered in very dark cloth that has a greenish tint with gold titles on the spine. The first article is PP. 155-171 and the second is 1-32

New York: Morehouse-Gorham, 1947. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Near Fine/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. This book would be "as new", but there is a narrow, shallow, 1" dent at the far edge of the front board; otherwise it is clean, tight, square with sharp edges and unmarked. It seems that, a few years before his death, Addison gave this book as a gift to his wife Margaret. Her signature is on the front free end paper while he has written on the half title page "To my Best. Beloved from J. T. A. February 1948". There are also two short lines bracketing two paragraphs on pages 80-81 which define love of others and love of God which, at least to me, are part of Addison's message to his wife. The boards are covered in black cloth with gold titles on the spine. It has 87 pages.

New York: Morehouse Publishing Company, 1937. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Very Good+/No Jacket. 16mo - over 5¾ - 6¾" tall. This book is clean, tight, square with sharp corners and unmarked. It is mildly sunned at the edges and there is a tap ghost on a blank end paper. Addison apparently gave this to his wife Margaret as he has inscribed the front free end paper: "To M. C. A. with devoted love from J. T. A. January 1937". The boards are covered in a blue almost purple colored cloth with gold titles on the spine. It has 75 pages.

Boston: Houghton Mifflin, 1934. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Very Good+/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. This book is clean, tight, square with sharp corners and unmarked. Addison dedicated this book to his daughters Helen and Martha and on the front free end paper he has inscribed the book to his wife Margaret: "To the Mother of Helen and Martha from their Father The Author August 15, 1934". It is sunned at the spine and more mildly at the edges. The boards are covered in light blue cloth with black titles on the spine and front. It has 163 pages.

New York: Morehouse-Gorham, 1940. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Near Fine/No Jacket. 16mo - over 5¾ - 6¾" tall. This book is clean, tight, square with sharp corners and unmarked. It is mildly sunned at the edges. Addison apparently gave this to his wife Margaret as her name is on the ffep and he has inscribed the half title page: "To M. C. A. with dearest love from J. T. A. December 18, 1939". The boards are covered in red cloth with gold titles on the spine. It has 75 pages.

It has been rebound in its original boards with new end papers It is rubbed, surface and edges, a bit more so at the corners which are through. It has 715, clear pages with green marbled edges, profusely illustrated with black & white drawings, many full page, bound in green cloth covered, beveled boards with bright, gilt titles on the spine and front where there is a lso a gilt drawing of cliff dwellings.
