Solid and VG+ in its chocolate-brown cloth, with decorative blindstamping and bright gilt-design and titling along the panels and spine. Small, neat 1914 inscription from a former owner to his father on the front free endpaper, otherwise very sharp internally, with light offsetting to a small number of the pages. Thick 12mo, 9 fold-out plates (as issued) plus a number of handsome chromolithographed plates.

Tight and VG to VG+ in its navy-blue cloth, with lavish blindstamping and gilt-design and titling to the panels. Dozens of fold-out maps, charts and crests throughout, a number of them in chromolithography. A gennereous amount of engravings as well, all designed to give a deep visual sense of a city which by the mid 19th century was already teeming with life and commerce. Very thick 12mo, over 860 pgs. of text.

Crisp and VG to VG+ in its orange stapled wrappers, with light creasing at the panels and very mild offsetting along the spine edges. 16mo, dozens of figures complementing the text. Wonderful architecture-themed ads at the rear.

1909. Newspaper. Very Good +. The uncommon February 1909 1st French edition of F.T., Marinetti's seminal art statement, "The Futurist Maifesto". "Marinetti wrote the manifesto in the autumn of 1908 and it first appeared as a preface to a volume of his poems, published in Milan in January 1909. It was soon after published in the Italian newspaper Gazzetta dell'Emilia in Bologna on February 5th, 1909 and then in French as "Manifeste du Futurisme" in the newspaper Le Figaro on February 20th, 1909". In other words, this, the French edition, is only the 3rd appearance of the Manifesto and the first to appear in a language other than Italian. Marnetti followed these first 3 appearances with his Poesia, a magazine that focused its April 1909 issue on the Manifesto, where the Italian and French versions were reprinted together with the English version (appearing for the first time). Internally immaculate, with no writing or markings of any kind.

And stapled pamphlet, by the same author and called "Whittier's Home at Amesbury", tipped-in. , Signed by Author.

A solid copy to boot of the uncommon 1897 1st edition. Tight and VG in its dark cloth, with bright gilt-titling and flourishes along the front panel and spine. Just a touch of mild spotting to the panels, a bit of soiling and foxing at several of the preliminary edges. Still though, very presentable. Tall quarto, dozens of crisp black-and-white photos of interiors and exteriors of Downing's residential work in the Atlanta area, with the accompanying printed tissue-guards all present. The photos by F.W. Howe of Atlanta, the engravings by Heard Respess of Chattanooga. An impressive monograph on turn-of-the-century Southern architecture.
