Canada: McClelland & Stewart, 2008-10-28. First Edition. Hardcover. Fine/No dustwrapper as issued. Shaun Tan. Signed. Signed first Canadian edition of author's first collection of stories, fables and new (sub)urban myths told in both words and his uniquely fabulous illustrations. The Canadian edition differs from the Australian and the US versions by having the title page stamp (actual illustration of a stamp with Eric in a teacup) with Canada 2c rather than Australia 2c price. The author told us that the Canadian publisher had requested this change and he acceded to the request, but strongly doubted that he would do anything similar for other countries, making this an exceptional copy. Sort of an incidental in-joke, given one of the stories is titled No Other Country. Signed with gold ink and a red fingerprint flower. All of our first editions are first printings unless otherwise noted. Dustwrappers are protected with clear archival wraps and we pack each book like it's a Tiffany egg.

Crows Nest, Australia: Allen & Unwin, 2008-05-01. First Edition. Hardcover. Fine/No dustwrapper as issued. TAN. Shaun. Signed. Signed first Australian edition/first printing and true first edition of author's first collection of stories, fables and new (sub)urban myths told in both words and his uniquely fabulous illustrations. Tan's work is hard to describe in any condensed form - which will, in any case, fall far short of the actual reading experience. This copy is signed with gold ink and a red fingerprint flower. If it's too pricey, just do yourself a favor and buy a regular copy from anywhere you want and sit down and read it. Then go find his other books and do the same. Very special. We have listed several limited edition prints of illustrations from from this title on ABE. All of our first editions are first printings unless otherwise noted. Dustwrappers are protected with clear archival wraps and we pack each book like it's a Tiffany egg.

Australia: Lothian Books, 2010. First THUS. Hardcover. Fine/No dustwrapper as issued. Shaun Tan. This is a special boxed set of The Arrival and Sketches from a Nameless Land, both hardcovers without dustwrappers as issued. The box looks like a huge old book with trompe l'oeil edges that look like old worn page edges. This box opens to reveal the books within. The Arrival is a 2010 reprint and the Sketches from a Nameless Land does not indicate a print number. Fabulous background from the artist of one of our most-beloved books. Still in publisher's shrink-wrap. All of our first editions are first printings unless otherwise noted. Dustwrappers are protected with clear archival wraps and we pack each book like it's a Tiffany egg.
