No date on title page.This is the FIRST COLLECTED EDITION of Jules Verne's Works printed in English!There was a later 15 volume edition printed in 1911 by Vincent Park & Co New York.This is the earlier 10 volume edition printed by National Alumni, with the blindstamp limitation seal dated 1904, as visible in the pictures.The set was apparently held in inventory as there is a custom dedication page to the original buyer dated 1917-1918, despite the blind stamp seal on the title page dated 1904.This set is unobtainable in this condition.Sets of Verne are already impossible to find, let alone so well preserved.Printed during Verne's lifetime. He died one year later, in 1905.This set is complete in 10 volumes.There was a later 15 volume edition printed in 1911 by Vincent Park & Co New York, in which the limitation page states in Fifteen Volumes. Towle, on the title-page. 291 pages plus endpapers and title page. Dark blue endpapers. Frontis illustration by Jules Verne of Le Saint Michel, his yacht. Title page in red and black ink. Roughly 4.5 by 6 inches. Bound in the publisher's green cloth with gilt lettering and illustration (same as frontis). Some ornamentation in blind. Page edges dyed red. One of the classics in the genre of children's, travel, as well as science fiction. This edition preceded the English edition. In good condition. Complete and intact, but with a lot of generalized wear. There is a tiny edge stain at top corner of a few pages. The fragile tissue paper is present. Illustrated with full page plates. 8.75 inches tall. 60 inches of shelf space. In excellent condition. The leather is still supple. There is general shelf wear and usage rubs, but these are all intact. All the hinges are strongly attached, some with starting, a few with archivally repaired hinges. Internally VERY GOOD, printed on quality rag paper that is very fresh bright and clean, near free of any foxing but for the first few pages. No previous signs of ownership.
