Damp stain to top of first 90 pages, diminishing in intensity with each page. Publisher's black textured cloth with gilt to reading "The Science of Human Life - Twilight Sleep - Dr. W.J. Introduction by Bishop Samuel Fallows. "Vital Information for the Married and Marriageable of all Ages etc." A fascinating document of its time that would benefit immensely from rebinding.
