This is a very rare catalogue of the Allan Kaprow exhibition which ran at the Pasadena Art Museum September 15 through October 22, 1967; Washington University, St. Louis February 1 through March 3, 1968 and University of Texas, Austin March 17 - April 28, 1968. It contains a preface by James T. Demetrion, Director, an interview of the artist by Barbara Berman, Assistant Curator. 60 pages 8 3/4 x 10"Allan Kaprow (1927-2006) was an American painter, assemblagist and a pioneer in establishing the concepts of performance art. He helped to develop the "Environment" and "Happening" in the late 1950s and 1960s, as well as their theory. His Happenings — some 200 of them — evolved over the years.
