Description:
Inscribed on the front cover "To Jerry, from Mom", this book has been cared for and not an ex-library book. Mr. Krumgold is one of my favorite author's of children's books (Henry 3 is my favorite!), this book won the Newbery Award in 1953 (the Newbery seal is stamped on the cover), but also won again in 1959 with Onion John. The most recent author to win two Newbery awards was Kate DeCamillo, who won one for The Tale of Desperaux , and another one for one of my all time favorites, Flora and Ulys where a vacuum cleaner is one of the main characters. (!) LOC #53-8415.
