The textblock is darkened around the edges, a few of the later leaves have a light dampstain along the top margin; some soil occasionally; but still a very good copy. With the signatures of William Morgan of Oxford dated 1682. Contains: Life of Charles I ; Eikon Basilike ; Papers concerning Church government, V ; Prayers used by His Majesty, VII ; Messages for peace, XXXVIII ; Declarations, III ; Letters, XLII ; Speeches, LIX. Cloth spine in light green, paper over boards printed in full color with additional illustrations by Humphrey. Board edges worn, light soil, mostly from fingering, rear free endpaper lacks a corner, else a very good copy with two neat inscriptions on the front free endpaper, one dated the year of publication. An elusive Humphrey title.

All the letters of the alphabet are here: A is for Anvil. B is for Bat. Each letter is illustrated with a scene from the period showing children at play. The alphabet is followed by one page with a number rhyme, the numbers form 1 to 10: 1,2 were little friends true... Some light soil and fraying but still in very good condition. Uncommon.

(Beijing): Wen Mei Zhai, 1911. First edition. Hardcover. Near fine. 4to. Two volumes, complete. One hundred woodblock illustrations of flowers intricately printed on one side of the page only in full color and bound in Oriental style, with three pages of introductory matter in Volume I. Basically these constitute illustrated paper for the writing of poems. Issued in two versions: red monochrome and full color. This is the full color version. This edition was printed in the third year of the Xuantong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) of the Xuangtong Emperor. (i.e., 1911). An ephemeral piece used as stationery; only a few copes have survived in any form. This copy has not been used in any way and is complete with 50 illustrations in each volume. One plate in Volume II has an old repair of a closed tear with some loss to the margin and wrinkling of the paper; one plate in Volume II has a few light gray color spots; the remaining 98 illustrations are fine and bright. Contents listed on the first page: 13 items, beginning with "She Lives not a Mile from the Meadow". Date of printing, based on Todd from the imprint address, is between 1802 and 1819. Text of songs only, no music. Four leaves, well stained , worn at edges (with loss of two words on page 7). Trimmed at the inner margin, but the two inner leaves are still connected. Only a fair copy, but a rare item.

Woodcut pictorial initials. Extensive synoptical index. Nicely rebacked retaining most of the original spine and the endpapers. The bottom compartment of the spine has been tooled in blind to style of the missing compartment. Wear to the edges else a very good copy. Lowndes, p. 200, observes that this is an extremely useful catalogue of the rare and curious collection made by T. Park and added to by T. Hill. It affords intresting information about the works of the early poets.

Housed in a custom morocco clamshell case with Beauty outlined in relief on the upper cover and the title tooled in blind. The representation on the upper board is taken from the first illustrated edition of Black Beauty. Originally published in England in 1877, it became an instant best seller. The first edition described it as an autobiography of a horse, translated from the original equine. It is published in the US by the American Humane Society. First issue with Introductory Chapter dated February 12, 1890 and ads on endpapers dated March, 1890.
